Mercedes unveiled its new 2025 Formula 1 car on Monday ahead of its first track appearance during pre-season testing in Bahrain this week.
“The W16 builds on the lessons learned from its predecessor, with significant changes ahead of the final season of this set of regulations,” Mercedes said in a statement.
The design of the car, which closely resembles the 2024 version of Mercedes’ car with a mix of silver, black and teal, was revealed last week at the launch of the new 2025 Formula 1 car in London.
“We are opening a new era in the story of our team and Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in 2025,” said Mercedes boss Toto Wolff. “We are building on the incredible legacy of our heritage and are looking forward to the start of racing.”
This will be the first time since 2013 that Mercedes have raced a Formula 1 season without seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has moved to Ferrari. George Russell is in his fourth season with Mercedes and will partner Kimi Antonelli.
