In other matches in the first round, Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova fell to her compatriot Veronika Kudermetova, and Kudermetova won the match in her favor in two sets to one, with a score of (3-6) and (6-4) and (6-3), in a match that lasted two hours and 11 minutes. Kudermetova will meet the world's number one, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, in the second round.
